Capitol One

has anyone had an issue with capitol one and Cabelas seems like they are slow playing card issuance, will be using my points and closing my account, the Cabelas Bros would be pissed. I believe banking interests in the US are looking at shutting down the 2nd AMENDMENT, WHAT BETTER WAY TO CONTROL THE MASSES

Had a real problem during there transition to Bass pro, what a pain in the rear finally told them that I really didn't think Johnny Morris needed my money and to cancel the card. So where does a guy go from here, do need a card?

I have to ask...what specifically is the problem fellas???? I got one, they never bothered to tell me that Basspro split with Bank of America and went with Capitol One. I went online to check my account and there was no account. I called and was told about the new partnership with C1. I asked if it had anything to do with the fact that Bank of America is a bunch of communist, liberal, left wing, tree hugging, anti-gun democrats and the Basspro lady said, "that about sums it up, sir"....
But I haven't had any problems so far, what should I be on the lookout for??? I don't use my card much and I always pay it off same month {contrary to what some jerk asses on this forum believe!!!}

They missed sending me my bill the first month that Cabelas switched to them. I called and they admitted a lot of people didn't get their bill in October but they still charged me a late fee, interest and deactivated my card leaving me with a cart full of stuff at the checkout line. Three calls later and no satisfaction. Just a woman speaking with a very heavy Indian accent telling me my account was past due and it was my fault. I told them to go pound sand and switched to a Wells Fargo cash back Visa. The fact that I was never late on a payment, never carried a balance once in the last 15 years and had a credit score of 831 did not matter to them one bit.

Wow!!! That's pretty GD bad!!! One thing I can say for absolute certain....I have NEVER had any trouble getting a bill from any credit card people!!!

Back when I was a young man, my first credit card was a capital one card. They gave me a good rate and limit for being a 21-22 year old fresh out of college. I used that card for quite a few years, never kept a balance on it just bought things I wanted but had the cash for anyways. One of the things I really liked about it was every month with your statement they would send along a sheet of checks that you could make out to yourself for cash or use to make other purchases. They sure came in handy for buying parts and things online from forums like this one. Then one day I get a letter in the mail saying my interest rate was going to go up to some 24-29% so I called customer service and asked them what was going on. They informed me that everyone's rates were going up to that and that it was a change across the board. I was then told not to worry "since you have a zero balance it doesn't really affect you". I then informed them that it does and they just essentially made sure that I would not make another purchase with that card again, so they can just go ahead and close my account. The lady kept arguing with me that the change doesn't affect me because I have a zero balance and that there is no need to cancel. I finally got her to transfer me to a supervisor who was happy to close the account for me. The next day as luck would have it I got a brochure in the mail for the Cabelas Club card. That card had a decent rate and I could earn points for stuff I liked to buy anyway so I have been using it ever since. Now I am a Capital One cardholder again due to the Bass Pro buy out and just received an email that my new card has shipped. I still have a zero balance but I'm still not sure I am going to be sticking around with that one.

I personally havent had any trouble thru the switch over. And i have 2 different accounts .

But on the other side of the coin, I wonder why the NRA has never created a credit card company?

Capitol One also took over my favorite home improvement store credit card accounts, mine included. Offered interest free for 6 months on large purchases, which I did ONCE. So I made regular payments while also using the card for other purchases. The problem is that unless you call them every month and tell them to apply your payment against the interest free purchase, they will apply it towards other purchases. And at the end of the 6 months, they claw back all the interest at a rate of 25.9% , in my case $125.00. I called and cancelled my card paying it off with my BofA card, which charges me 12.9%, but the payoff was also interest free for 6 months. BofA does not claw back interest at the end of 6 months like Capitol One does.

How did you get the 12.9% interest rate?

I had my "Cabela's Card" for years, and have used the points for various purchases.

I didn't have any issues with the Capital One merger. They just sent me a new card with "Cable's" on it, but now I check all activity through my Capital One web system.

Living in S Louisiana, almost 100% of banks would have a big issue with any firearm, hunting, or ammunition purchases using their credit card.

FWIW, all states are different. I am sure what is happening is several areas around the country is due to their individual State Laws, and how the court system handles them.

NY is a prime example. Many Credit Card companies business originating from NY could face heavy fines or lawsuit holding "ALL" responsible for purchasing a firearm related item. It's very sad.

This is like holding Chevy, Ford, Dodge, plus all the others responsible for selling a vehicle to a person who later gets involved in a DUI collision resulting in someone's death. Nobody ever hold the vehicle manufacturer responsible for making and selling the car, the "Drunk Driver" is 100% responsible.

This is one reason Remington move out of NY. How can anyone hold Remington or any other firearm manufacture responsible for firearm related deaths and murders?
