Cant remember what its called, basically a brass-less chamber muzzle loader

So I have heard tell of guys cuting a chamber in a smokeless muzzleloader. Essentially a brass less 45/70 or really any thing. I want to read more about it but I cannot remember what its called. (my guess is its done so you can use reload manual data, thats my interest at least)
Can anyone tell me what im looking for? Or point me at it?
I hate to beg and choose but I need more specific guidance than check Hanks or Dougs message boards.
Thanks all.

I know Hollis at center punch usa(built the arrowhead guns for a few years)cuts chambers in some. I think only 40 cal and smaller. Email or call him he will help you

Arrowhead sporting goods sells blanks and his patented breach plug. These rifles shoot one holes groups. Pretty impressive

Plainfield precession in Shelby NC, Brian, builds MLs that shoot 1500 yards. Not sure what the details are but they use rifle powder and shoot like a br.
I myself was blown away with the idea a ML was a long range rifle !

Done to reduce the length of the powder column. Have heard of it in SML calibers smaller than .45

It's called a powder chamber.
As the shooter, you need to determine the max and minimum powder loads you will probably use in the gun.
The powder chamber size will be determined by the volume needed by your minimum powder load.
If you are going to shoot loads that vary in size from 70 to 130 grains, you do NOT want the powder chamber set up for the 130 grain load, if you might periodically use a 70 grain load.
You will use a cylinder calculator and a powder volume per grain chart to determine your powder chamber.
Good luck

Didn't catch the brand, but a guy at the range this morning was proofing loads in one. At 100 yards he was printing 1-hole groups. Seemed to hold up through at least three shots before he needed to clean.
First shot on a clean bore was about an inch high. Following shots were literal one-hole shots. Amazing the progress those things have done in the past 15 years or so.
