Can’t get 105 RDF’s to shoot out of 6br

Interesting.... what/where/who is your source to that information?

Came across some comments from a guy who claimed to be one of the initial testers of the bullet. He claims that Nosler had to tweak the production line as the initial run of bullets produced was generally producing erratic results.

Whether he's right or not, I don't know. My testing of these bullets has been somewhat limited. The BC is definitely right up there. I've got a couple of 6XCs coming in the next few weeks, unfortunately I'm still a couple of months away from buying glass for the one which I plan to use the RDFs with - or at least try to.

I am pretty sure that among those that really shake down their loads that the RDF's have a lot less fans than detractors. Many probably could have achieved better results if they worked the entire range of jump, for instance 10 to 70 off and not stop till two of them go south. I have no use for them.

Ok, here's my results, shot an F Class 1K match (120 rounds) over two days, my Dasher 105 RDF loads @ 2920 fps were jumping .040. Having a good 600 zero, my Strelok App, showed 15.5 MOA up from 600. First shot was a 3 o'clock 8, so that proved pretty much right on. Well during the first match I owned the 9 ring, and most just over the 10 line, having some trouble getting them into the middle. Conditions were lots of boil and mirage, just enough to screw with you. After that I put together strings of 96 and 98, when conditions stabilized, so the bullets did show some potential.

There were a couple of HM's that put on a good show with high 190's, but looking over the scores, there was a great number of matches staying the in the low-mid 180's, (and several below:(), so maybe the conditions were harder then they looked.

I had enough good strings with decent X counts that warrant more testing, I'm not sold of the RDF's yet. I'll be moving to Irons Sight matches for the rest of the year, a bigger target may make me feel better, but like I said I need to shoot them a lot more before I'm sold.

I don't recommend spending time with them but if you do....the jump is important. Work the ENTIRE range from 10 off to 70 off looking for your best results. 3 shots per try is all needed. If you start at 10 off, increment by 10 and observe results. DO NOT STOP TOO SOON! If your changes show 2 steps getting worse, back up to previous and consider one try of 5 either side. The RDF's have real narrow sweet spots compared to something like hybrids. The balance is too fine for me to spend time. Also ask yourself why RDF's are constantly discounted.

Normally I would agree with 3 shot groups for seating depth testing, however the RDF's are not consistent enough to judge much off a 3 shot group.

I shot one of the best 3 shot groups of my life when I was testing seating depths with the 140 RDF's in my 6.5 creedmoor. One 3 shot group was a tiny ragged hole - I was ecstatic and thought I was done. Loaded up a bunch of ammo to that spec, but couldn't shoot a 5 shot group for shit. There was always random fliers on shot 3, 4 or 5. Sometimes even on shot #2. Couldn't get it to group less than 1 moa for 5 shots, though it occasionally put 3 in the same hole.

RDF's really tested my patience and sanity. As much as I wanted them to work, as they have a great BC for a killer price, I just wasn't able to make it happen. I'm back to shooting Berger Hybrids in all my calibers.

im probably in the same spot. im working on an 105 RDF load in my bartlein 1:8 Dasher. found that .010 IN the lands shrunk my groups. last outing I had 4 in less then a 1/4" but then that one flyer opened it up to >1/2". I will re-test, make sure it wasn't the shooter...
what makes that load a bit more odd, was that the load was with 36.5gr of IMR4451

RDF with 33.1gr varget is another load I will re-test

im primarily back to my 32.8 Varget/Berger load though

*work up your loads, all barrels and powders are different
