Awesome! What's the trick to filling the pores and pinholes before putting the candy down...clear first? I'd guess maybe an adhesion promoter first thing.
I super glued any big voids and wood slivers with a 2 part super glue used for granite counters then sanded flat.Awesome! What's the trick to filling the pores and pinholes before putting the candy down...clear first? I'd guess maybe an adhesion promoter first thing.

They just keep getting better sir... The candy colors are absolutely beautiful... I have a maple 600 remington stock that was my grandfather's deer rifle in 6mm remington that I have been trying for years to sit down and do a hand rubbed tung oil finish on it.... It would be so nice again.... I keep seeing you guys doing stocks and it keeps reminding me of it.... I did one many years ago to see if I could do it useing an sks of all things because hey what are you going to do , make it worse...?
It turned out very very nice , took about 3 weeks but worth it.... I need to get that 600 out and get to work.... Since I can't do anything but sit inside during the summer maybe this year I can get it done...
Ok when time comes I will... It should come out nice if I do my part... The wood is beautiful....Take before, in-progress, and finished images and share, please.
