Cancelled matches ?

An old saying keeps coming to my mind lately “Down the rabbit hole”! A lot of Americans, and I mean a lot, need to find there way back out of that hole and open their eyes wide open to where our Country is headed right now before its too late. Like I said earlier, it aint the Corona Virus that scares me. And I am at higher risk for complications at 54 with prior lung cancer, stage 3 colon cancer and low immune system.

Amen

It's one thing to go through life wondering if one could have done something to save a friends life. It's another having to go on knowing that you may have been the reason someone died. This virus kills 70% men and mostly old out of shape men. The kind of guys I shoot with. Many of them are alive now only because some doctor or some pills saved them somewhere down the line. While I figure I'm in good enough shape that I'd have a good chance of living through a bout of this. I doubt many of the guys I shoot with could. And I ain't going to have their death on my conscience.
I am in the risk group by age. I have a lot more fear of everyone that has a couple of beers then gets in their car and drives than this. Now all those who feel the need to go to foreign countries then you want to run home to the USA when something happens, no stay there. Don't bring it home to me. You think it's so wonderful elsewhere, stay there.

Speaking of cancelled matches, thats a slippery slope. I wonder how many never come back. With over 50 year of some type of shooting completion experience I have seen very few matches come back once they were interrupted for any reason. I sure hope that does not happen now. I hope match directors push matches back as opposed to just cancelling the season.

We have an approved IBS 600 yard match every month of the year. We have cancelled the April match due to the virus..... Governor banned all gatherings of 10 or more. We will not reschedule the April match, but if we only miss one month we are still well ahead of most ranges.
I admit, we have some hardcore shooters here. Shooting in temperatures in the 20’s and 30’s takes pretty dedicated folks. We average 14 shooters per match April-Nov, the cooler months it’s more like 8 or 9 hearty souls.

Keep up the good work Milligan. We have winter bench matches here in Central Pa, I have left for home from them when it's below zero. Like a lot of things, some talk and a few do.
