Anxiously waiting to cheer on all the members of the US National Rifle Team. Shooting starts Saturday. Saw an event on Facebook for those that are interested. I will pass along updates as they are available.

Marty, you can also follow the results and commentary at the DCRA web site:

http://dcra.ca/results.php

Fullbore championships start Sunday afternoon, with the Macdougall. I believe the "Warmup" matches are Saturday and Sunday morning. Not sure about the Friday matches, as the f-class is being run just prior to the fullbore.

Saw some good US shooters on the individual matches. Ray Gross, Adrian Harris, Oliver, Trudie Faye. Short Pants Mrnak, Disco Stu Mackey.

Looks like they report an aggregate at the end of the day tomorrow.

Thanks John, That must be a really tough crowd. Drop a point and you are in 40 to 50 place.... ouch!

Ouch is right. 36th place in the grand aggregate was 100-7V. 37th was 99-14V. No room for any kind of error. One has to be at the the peak of their mental game to be competitive in those matches. Drop one point, and you may be out of the running. Mental stamina is key for the 6 days of shooting that make up the grand aggregate.

The 5V target is a little bit of an adjustment. Looks like a "V" is the same dimension as the 10 ring on the US palma target. The 4 is similar to the 9 ring on the typical US palma target.

Seems that the goal is to get to the shoot off.

Is that it, or is the V the same sauce as the X, 5 same size as 10, 4 same size as 9, and so on. Magpie!!!! Lol, I just like saying that

V is 20 inches at 1000 yards and the same as a 10 in normal palms target.

Edit -This is not correct. Read the following posts.

Adrian Harris, Ray Gross, and John Field won some of the shoot offs today. Hopefully we catch that in the updated results.

John, any insight into the wind at that range? View attachment 1062109

It's probably been 10 years since I have been up there. I do remember that it can change rather quickly. I remember I shot first relay at 8 AM (or 8:30 AM?), and finished up with 13 minutes of wind. I heard stories that, later in the day, the wind went from 13 minutes in one direction to 9 minutes in the other. I am sure you will hear war stories from those you know that are up there.

As an aside...it is a great range, and a well run match.

From the Sunday commentary on the DCRA web site:

First of all, a quick summary of the warm-up matches conducted this past weekend. The Ottawa Regiment was won by Adrian Harris from the USA with a 75.12. The Gooderham was won by Justin Skaret from the USA after a tie shoot with John Field (USA), Oliver Milanovic (USA) and Geoff Woodman (Newfoundland - Canada). The Army & Navy Veterans and the Sierra Long Range Challenge matches was also won by Adrian Harris with 75.11 and 150.18 respectively, capping an excellent weekend for Adrian.
...
The Tilton was won by Raymond Gross (USA) with 100.17. This concluded the Champlain Aggregate, which comprises all of the warmup matches. The winner of the Champlain Aggregate was won by John Field (USA) with a score of 350.51.

No commentary for Monday, however it seems there should be a shoot off for the Brick match with Brandon Green and Fazal Mohideen.

Wow, Oliver is having a good match and Brandon Greene is making it to the top quit often too.

Nice to Erud on the board. After all of the smackdown he has given me this year.
