Canadian F-Class nationals results

It definitely looks like relay position is playing a significant part. Too bad they don't re-squad based on ranking per day, similar to what the crew at the SWN does, but there's always going to be some obstacle to overcome... :) It probably averages out over the long term anyhow, but it's nice when the leaders are head-to-head.

Totally agree!

what does that mean?

Means their are 2 shooters on the mound at one time shooting in rotation. So when you shoot you're looking at your partners last shot on target, not yours. Makes calling wind, etc., extra demanding. You have to pay attention while they shoot. Also, stops you from shooting fast when taking turns. Can't get em all off when the wind is doing same conditions. Also keeps you "in position" for a longer time than you're accustomed to.

There are two other significant differences from string shooting:

1) two sighters only, and they are convertible to score shots (but converting #1 and not #2 isn't allowed; converting #2 only is allowed - the last converted shot must run straight into the remainder of the score shots).

2) The 45 second rule. When the target reappears after your partner has shot, you have 45 seconds to mark his/her scorecard then take your shot. In other words, unlike US / Australian practice you cannot choose the time you take to shoot within an overall allowance letting you delay until the conditions return to a previous norm. When that target reappears you have to make a very fast wind call and hope you get it right. Hard work in 'twitchy winds'.
