can you make 6X47 brass?

Why would you want to?

The key point of interest in this round is the exceptional quality of the manufactured brass. I'm sure you could get close to a similar case capacity by simply shortening something like the 308/243. ,Plenty of that stuff about!) You will find something not dissimilar in PO Ackley's book called the "6mm Madam" I seem to recall.

Just stay with the 'real thing' and you won't be disappointed. :)

Just for the sake of accuracy I had the name of the similar Ackley-listed cartridge wrong. I should have referred to the "6mm Durham International" and not the "6mm Madam".

Interestingly the 6X47 Swiss Match case has, as you might guess, an overall length of 47mm,1.850"). The Durham International, shortened 243) has an overall length of 1.875". Guess there is not much that hasn't been done before in the world of wildcatting!

Klenchblaize, very well said! You can make this brass as KB said but why is right! It's an "out of the box" BR quality round, the brass is that good!
The 1 variable left of importance to everyone is the "Average" velocity/accuracy that can be expected out of an average length target barrel of say 26 to 28 inches with the 105 to 115 grain bullets presently available. Interpolation from this length would be very close in a - or + barrel length.
I use the term 'average" because there will be variation reports beyond anyone's control because of the difference in barrels/chambers/powder/people.
