Can I use .260 Rem. Redding Match 'S' Neck Bushing Dies on a .260AI ??

I have been using the Lee Collet die very successfully, however I would like to try the Redding bushing dies, only issue is that I would be using a .260Rem die on a .260AI. It works with the Lee Collet die, however, I don't know if the Redding will size the case in the body more, etc. Anyone know for sure? Thanks, Bob

If you already have the die run one and see.but I would think that it may push the shoulder back.because when one goes from standard case too an ackley it not only changes the shoulder but pushes it alittle.but you may be able to adjust the die for that.not sure never do it just thinking out load and putting it here.if it works I let me know.I may get one for my 300 ackley.
how are you setting the lee die up I may go and try that now.are you makeing adjustments or running the die as if you arre loading for a plain 260 case?Johnboy

bob,

if you use a redding NECK die with bushing and try to resize neck on an 'improved' case, you best be extremely carefull to stop the stroke of the ram at the base of the neck - with the bushing 'all' the way into die and the die 'set out' on the press so the ram is full 'up' when the 'neck' is resized!

if you use the die on an imp. case as you would on a reg. case,

you'll get a mess???

i am currently playing with an 30* shoulder - 6.5 HABU and didn't want to buy dies untill it proved itself.

if you come up another way, please let me know.

ron

If your intent is to adjust neck tension only, then you should be able to use the redding die for that purpose. Just adjust the stroke so the first .2 inch is run through.
