Can I lighten the trigger pull on my Jewel HVR-A?

A while ago a friend gave me a Jewel HVR-A trigger. It includes the B and C springs.

In order to change the pull weight on the trigger (currently set at 1 pound), do I simply unscrew and replace the A spring with the C spring, or is it more complicated than that? (all of my Benchrest rifle triggers are Jewel BRs and are set at 1-2 ounces).

Thanks!

My only suggestion is to have a trigger gauge capable of reading accurately at the setting you desire. It sounds like you do from your comments about your other rifles. I read too often where folks state their trigger pull weight as a guess by pulling it. Maybe they can, I can't.

Thanks, Jim.
Yes, I have what I believe to be an accurate trigger guage.

If your intent is to use 2 ounces then yes. But remember, 1.5 ounce is the minimum recommended trigger pull force for “safe handling with the safety off”.
Thanks, Fred.
All of my Benchrest rifles with which I shoot LRBR competition have Jewel BR triggers and are set for 1.5 ounces. None of them are equipped with a safety. I don't currently need this trigger but I wanted to have a spare just in case I need a backup.
