Can AR Comp be downloaded like H4895?

Just throwing this out there.... Since ARComp can be loaded almost exactly like H4895, and behaves almost the same, can you use the same 60% of max load procedure, for reduced recoil loads?

It has been my experience that these two powders are twins. I bet it’ll work the same in reduced loads. Load up a few cases and report back

Hi fatelvis,
Good question and observation on how the bulk burn rates of AR-Comp(TM) and H4895 are very close. The two propellants are very different designs though, so we wouldn't recommend using the IMR rule of thumb for reduced loads. I believe that was IMR's general rule, and I don't believe the H4895 is exactly the same design either. They both use DNT for the deterrent though, so maybe it works ok.
Be safe and shoot well,
Paul
