I think thats about the lightest I have seen!
Now I just have to wait a couple years until I turn 60!
That will do the job and a lot of rifle weight is not required to tame such a small amount of recoil. Should serve you very well in the mountainsThat’s exactly why I went with the 6.5x47L. I’m using premium bullets that will do the task at hand with less powder, less muzzle blast and less recoil. The 130 is at about 2,850 fps.
Dave.
I bought a Tikka T3 in 300 Win Mag. It weighs about 8 pounds without a scope. I was going to strip it down for the action and build a custom 338 Win Mag for my son. I found a better candidate, so I still have it in the safe. I’m not going to shoot it!That will do the job and a lot of rifle weight is not required to tame such a small amount of recoil. But to answer the question in the title of the thread, the answer is YES when talking by about large magnum cartridges. For smaller rounds there will come a breaking point as well where recoil is too much for the weight so if a person could build a rifle lighter than yours the answer still may be YES even for such a small round. But I think at your weight you are good to go with the 6.5x47L
Add two pounds with an optic an rings and she’ll be fine to shootI bought a Tikka T3 in 300 Win Mag. It weighs about 8 pounds without a scope. Thanks for not mentioning putting a brake on it!Add two pounds with an optic an rings and she’ll be fine to shootTikka actions would weigh half what they normally do if they didn’t have that boat anchor of a trigger housing hanging off the receiver. Lol.
Try to avoid them at all costs! Lol.Thanks for not mentioning putting a brake on it!
