can a remington 700 action be rethreaded for kelbly style barrels?

I have a remington 40x that I recently purchased. It was glued in a mcmillan benchrest stock. I removed it from the stock and someone has gone happy with a dremel to rough up the action so the glue would stick >:( I am going to put it in a jj industries action sleeve or something similar to clean it up. I have access to a bunch of panda barrels and was wondering if the action can be altered to accept kelbly style threads? I forget the thread dimensions. I may need to make a spacer because I'm pretty sure the kelbly style has more depth. Its just an idea.

Your Remington is 16TPI and the Stolle Panda has 18TPI(oops). Only way is to rechamber and rethread the barrel. Hope this helps. ;D

Here's std Kelbly barrel tenon dimensions.
Length 1.115 in.
Diameter 1.0625 in.
Size 1 1/16 - 18 tip

You'll need to cut the threads off the barrels and rechamber & cut new threads as your Rem 40x has has 1 1/16 - 16 tpi

Another factor that has been over lookeded is a Kelbly has a cone faced bolt and a Remington has a 3 rings of steel bolt nose.
