Camp perry

Was wanting to know if anybody knew how much the entry fees where to shoot the Springfield/vintage rifle at camp perry and how to register for the shoots. I'm new to all this.

Pay attention to the commands, don't move to the line early, be patient, CP is the slowest match you will ever shoot, give fast pit service. Get there early, and be prepared to carry your stuff a long way from the car to the line.

As someone said in another thread shoot some other matches before you get there.

Take lunch with you when you go to the pits, even if it is 9am. We were in the pits for 2 1/2 hours during the LR portion.

Pack warm clothes it could be cold, and pack hot weather clothes it could be 100 deg. Ive been there when it went from 85 one day to 40 the next morning. Rain gear and water proof boots are a must. Camp Perry was built on a swamp. Be prepared to hump all your gear 1000 yards and have food and water for 12 hours out in the sun.

Listen to all of the above, with an emphasis on the patience part.

Go there with the right mindset, don't get frustrated, and enjoy yourself at one of the greatest shooting gatherings to be found!

On a positive side, when the sun's out and sky is clear, gentle breeze showing the mirage , targets are bright and the boats aren't in the impact area it's a beautiful place.
That 's happened twice in the last 12 trips up there......... ;D ;D ;D

Thanks everyone. I will keep all that in mind when heading there. My other question is what would be better to shoot my mosin or my 2a1 enfield.

let me ask you this. which rifle shoots better for you at 200 yards? which sights are better for you? which one can you reload better? remember 1 rapid fire prone stage. 5 & 5. top shooters use the 6.5 swede mauser and k-31 swiss. don't go to perry without testing and practice. rapid reloading is not easy without practice. bottom line, i cannot say what shoots better for YOU.

I have trained with both for about 18yrs now with my uncle who is a police sniper. Rapid fire 5/5 I can put both in 2in groups at 200. Just never been to a match didn't know if more people use one over the other.
