Camp Perry Memorablilia

I recently found out my wife's grandfather (passed away in 2000) used to compete at Camp Perry in the late 50's through late 60's. Her grandmother is still going strong at 93 yo and still has all his rifles, scopes and Camp Perry stuff. I never met him unfortunately he passed before we got married. He was an avid reloader, ammo collector and competitor. Having been a US Marine myself and having served in a STA/sniper unit, I've always been a fan of Gunny Carlos Hathcock. It was really cool seeing the 1965 program from the Camp Perry matches with his name in it as a LCpl, and then seeing his image on the cover of the 1966 program for winning the 1965 match!

He has several really cool rifles that I'm not sure what they are or what caliber...his wife doesn't know and his son's don't shoot or have any interest in the stuff. He has an old Unertl scope as well which is really cool. Old NIB shotguns from the 60's with original box, tons of old reloading gear and quite the metallic cartridge and shotgun shell collection. Any ideas what this stuff is or worth? I really hope she doesn't sell it or that her sons don't sell it off. It would be a shame. She actually put some of it in a yard sale a while back and thank God it didn't sell!

Earthquake, if the O/U Shotgun is a Winchester 101 (I believe it is) then it is worth some GOOD CHANGE! I don't know how much, but N.I.B. condition! Plenty of $$$$$'s... Also the Unertl SHOULD be worth a few good dollars too! I can't say about the rest. I just don't know..

I'll post the Camp Perry program photos etc. once I dig them out. Anyway, I'm just trying to get an idea what she has here. I brought all the CP stuff home and put it in my climate controlled safe so it's not getting ruined in her damp basement. I just want to find out for her, if she does want to sell it all off, what it's all worth so she doesn't get taken advantage of...and to keep it out of her yard sales!

I would even consider buying some of it myself to keep it in the family, but I'm just a grandson-in-law so have no real say in any of this. I just think it's all cool as hell and don't want it to get ruined or sold off for peanuts. Thanks for any info you can send my way.

From what I can tell from pics and my limited knowledge I will guess...

Hi-Wall depending on caliber and if all original $1200 to several thousand

Remington 37's are in highest demand in yrs. so depending on whether she has original sights,yr built and if stock is original and uncut $900-1600

Unertl-looks to be 1.5" target-depending on power and clarity- $600-$800

Win O/U-Not many original boxes around in that condition- Depending on model, barrel length, chokes etc could be several big ones!!! And I tain't talking Franklin big ones.

Win 70 probably 06 or 308? Can't tell for sure from pic but guessing post '64 and condition/alterations? $6-800?

Looks from length to be T-16 Weaver? $250-$300

Springfield and Enfield?- As they are altered/rebarreled and not original $300>?

Not estimates you would want to borrow money on, just bored and guessing at what I see in posted photos! Cool old collection. Would have been nice and interesting to know the ole gent!

Nice that some folks can still hit a Mother Lode once in a while. Check gunbroker.com for selling (not asking ) prices once you get some model numbers together but certainly thousands of dollars potentially. The cartridge collection is worth $$ as well to the right buyer. He sounds like he was quite the shooter!

It looks like 2 spring fields , one a 1903 the other a 1903 a3 or a4 . If it is an a 4 it's a sniper . Can you post a pic of the one without a rear sight .
1 Enfield
2 spring fields
1 rem 37
1 win 70
Plus the shotgun and single shot and scopes .
Back to the Springfield . The Springfield , REMINGTON ROLL MARK will be off center
If it is it's very valuable if just missing a scope and still original

I believe the single shot rifle is a low wall not a high wall. To get the best return on the items you need to sell most by them selves. Some old reloading tools are only worth a dollar or two others can bring a lot more. It will take a lot of time and searching to get good values. It is real nice to see things such as programs and results from the old matches but they may not bring any money. You may find someone to display those item's maybe a gun club so others can enjoy them. They mean the most to those that were there. Good luck and enjoy them

I don't plan on selling any of the Camp Perry stuff, but am wondering now if CP has a history museum or anything? A historical preservation group? I am in Ohio so I need to make a trip up there with all this stuff to show them...if they'd be interested in seeing it.

Since the sons don't shoot, I wanted to at least give them an idea of what they have after she passes. So far they've shown little interest in it all. I don't quite know what to do with it. I also don't want it to wallow in my basement. If there's a way to make use of it, that would be cool. If not, I'll hang on to it and gladly show it to anyone that might take interest. I imagine there are not too many left that shot there during the 60's. Any ideas? Thanks.

The last one one page one of the post , can you tell if the roll Mark says remington 1903 a3 , but is off center of the unertl scope base . That's the one that may be a ex sniper
