Several years ago there was an article in PS "Secrets of a Houston Warehouse"
In that article it said that the prefect length for a point blank benchrest barrel was X.X inches long.
Do you remember how long the article said the barrel needed to be??
I can't find the article anywhere...

 I can't say that it made instant hall-of-famers out of any of us, at least not me.  Plus when the time came to cut a fresh crown, there went the length out the window.  I'm sure it had something to do with the barrel harmonics and that there are other lengths that are just as suitable.
