California can't be outdone!

Seems as though California didn't want to fall behind in the gun frenzy.

Nothing new >:( What happens here, travels around the country. The law makers here have been in contact with other states considering the same type of legislation. They seem to have garnered quite a bit of support.

BTW.... Ca. happens to be following the lead of a few other states that have been trying to pass this for the past 10 years.

Then I guess it's a good thing the NRA offers some insurance for free to members.

If the insurance industry gets in on it,they will gouge as its their business based on the phony statistics of the obama machine. They do risk analysis and I will bet it will be thousands a year to the average gun owner.

My gut tells me this bill is more about learning who has the guns than who pays for the damages

Yes, and imposing annual "inspections" (like smog checks on cars), and annual mandatory "insurance qualification safety courses" and charging money for "gun insurance cards". And then, of course, passing a law allowing confiscation if you are at a gun range and don't have a copy of your gun insurance ID card... The list goes on and on....

So maybe I am wrong here but if (heaven forbid) there is an accident and someone gets hurt at your home, doesn't your home owners insurance have liability to cover such accidents? I know if intent or criminal behavior is proven they will reject the claim but I don't think any policy would cover that. Anyone know?

Yes, I am a Californian. Moved here after my active service in the U.S. Army (originally from Ohio) 43 years ago. Northern California, nice weather, Ocean, Mountains, Fishing, Hunting, and to my surprise, big time Liberals. I soon realized, that I had to fight for our freedoms. Life member of NRA, Life member of the California Rifle and Pistol Association and donate as much money as I can to our organizations. Because of the majority of Liberals in California, it all starts here. Please do not hate us who love shooting here. We are STRONG. A high percentage of NRA members. Lots of high quality shooting ranges. And top shooters. We need support. I have been saying for years, "what happens here, can happen in your State". So, please help defeat our California Liberals. Support the NRA and other shooting organizations you support. Please don't point fingers, help us help you! Sorry for this rant, but I am passionate for our shooting freedoms. And I am an American Citizen!

I think you need an umbrella policy for a gun accident.
I got that too but it kicks in only after you reach your maximum liability coverage on your home or auto insurance. That leads to reason that if the umbrella covers it, the others would have to also. If this is true, you could truthfully state you have insurance already and don't need to buy more.

I will not comment,..I will not comment,...I will not comment............................

On my Attorneys advice I increased all of my liability insurance on our vehicles and our home owners policys to COA, incase.

As he put it over 95% of the vehicles that are covered are done so at the State Minimum requirement ($25,000/50,000 for injury, $50,000/100,000 for death, and $10,000 for property damage) which will hardly get an accident victim an Ambulance ride, a band-aid in the ER let alone pay for the repairs to the Welfare Queens Escalde that you sideswiped. This and having had a Law Suit filled against me/my Company before made me up them to be sure that, God forbid, I did something to cause anyone injury or if someone did "slip on the ice on the front porch" we sould have coverage and our nest eggs would still be there.

What I can't do is shoot some crackhead who, armed or otherwise is inside my home with me fearing for my life as it's not covered, it's what's known as an "intentional act" aka, "self defence" which isn't covered as they don't sell coverage for an intentional act or the Lawsuit that would follow from the perp and or their family.

Come on we can do it together. No comment just act like they are all reporters and say No comment.

From an actuarial point of view it should be (but won't be) cheaper than car ins..That because the average legel firearms owner is more cautious than the average driver...the goal fo course is to essentially tax you from your firearms..

The real reason behind this they will force you to insure each gun. One very expensive and two they have created registration and not called it that.

Then of course each gun will have to have an annual saftey inspection.
