For your use I would choose the 7mm08 as it is similar to the .308 and the bullets(well some) have a better bc if you use bergers or hybrids.

How well would the 6.5x47L feed from a magazine. The only reason for my suggestion is if you forget your ammo somehow.

Jon, it has a 30 degree shoulder, so it should feed just fine.. AND it is a tad shorter than a 308, so bullet seating has more options in a short action, even from a magazine than a "full length" 308 based cartridge.

The 6BR is not going to work through the magazine very well and the 308 and 7/08 are going to be limited to magazine length cartridges. You have a 260 so take out the 6.5X47. While the 243AI sounds good, the 6X47 Lapua will do better in the efficiency department. My choice would be the 6X47, 8 twist, with 105-107g bullets. I have two 6X47 rifles, and they are awesome shooter's at a thousand yards with plenty of energy to drop a whitetail in it's tracks!
