Every Caldwell front rest I have owned has come with a front bag but they do not all come with the same style front bag.cocopuff said:not sure if this is the place or not to ask..Does the front bag come with these rest? If have heard they do and they don't.Anyone know for sure?
I don't know if I would call the Caldwell front bags a Piece Of S. I think they are not great but they are sufficient for the purpose they are normally used for such as plinking and regular rifle stocks such as everyday hunting stocks. I used a Caldwell Rock BR and a Caldwell Fire Control both with the 3 lobe 3" front bag they came with and had good results on my 3" wide flat bottom stocks. These were good for a introduction to benchrest shooting for me. I then moved up to a Sinclair Competition Shooting Rest with a Edgewood Front Bag which is my current front rest.Otter said:They do and you will want to replace it. POS are kind words for it. I found the quality of the rest okay once you put a good bag on it. It isn't a SEB or a Farley, but it isn't close to a thousand bucks to own either. If I was shooting under a time constraint I would upgrade, but I really doubt I could shoot smaller groups off a more expensive rest with my causal approach to shooting.
