Cabela's 30mm Tactical Classic Riflescopes

Does anyone have any experience with these? I am looking to shoot 600 to 1000 yards for fun this summer, but in coming years I hope to compete. This year I am on a budget and am interested in the 8-32x50 model. If anyone could give me an idea if this would be worth the investment, I would appreciate it.

No experience and no real help but do have a ancedote.

Cabela's does not make scopes. They market subcontracted items from various foreign sources. Friend bought a Cabela's Alaskan, or something like that. It had one of those "stupid & busy" reticles (like Shephard) that confused. Couple years after buying, it failed adjustment and he returned it for repair.

Cabela's sent him a check for his original $350 expense and said they no longer marketed that scope. Real nice of them that they would satisfy the customer like they did.

We bought two Cabelas scopes, 6-24x, regular price of $350 on sale for around $150. They were not worth the $150 spent.

Cabelas doesn't make scopes, just stick their name on what someone else makes. If you can't handle the scope and look through it, I would spend my money elsewhere. Even if you can handle it, I would approach with caution unless you can identify who actually made it.
