Buyers versus Tire Kickers

If you guys think tire kickers in the gun world are bad, try selling atvs and dirt bikes, especially kids sized stuff. All the “ urban atv” stuff has brought about some interesting characters with questionable backgrounds.
It is fun though when they lowball me for 10% of asking price and then get aggressive when I decline. My MO is to accept the offer and have them meet me at one of the local wal marts in town and have them chase their tail cause I’m not coming
The last guy who tried that with me got the price raised the same amount as he tried to lowball me. He had advertised WTB for some hard to find brass (in our local online buy & sell forum). I had responded with a price that was 13% less than what it would cost in a store (mine was new primed Remington). He lowballed me, so I didn't bother responding. He then offered me what I had originally offered to sell it for, told him no & just increased the price accordingly. I don't have & won't make time for those kind of folks.

I'm going through this right now, trying to sell a gooseneck trailer. I wasted a whole day this week waiting on a no show. It happens.............
Craigslist?

Friend was selling his Jaguar. Guy shows up to test drive, seems bonafide. They go for a drive, at one intersection, the buyer pulls out a gun, says to Mike, "Get out." There he was, miles from home, no car, didn't bring his phone. Oops.

I listed a riding mower for sale on Craigslist for $350. I got a response "would you bring it to me in Ft Pierce for $300. Would i load it up and drive an hour and 15 minutes only to have you tell me you like it but wanted a blue one ill only give 250 for it. Had a guy that english was not his first language showed up on time I showed him the mower and drove and mowed with it. He handed me $350 I helped him and his friend load it and was gone. I have a short tolerance for nonsense.

I am a buyer if there's enough description and pictures to go along with it. Recently I purchased a die and seater that I need to start reloading the other caliber rifle that I have (own only 2 caliber). I've been slowly purchasing the reloading supplies that I need over the last year or so for this rifle from this site. I received the items, inspected them. I tried the die and it works as expected. The seater however was another story, bullet was seated really low. Short story the seater was setup for another caliber. Tech support from the manufacturer confirm it base on the measurements I provided. Tech sent me a new aligning sleeve but I still have to purchase a seating stem, I did not know that the seater would not work either until I got the new sleeve. I should have as a buyer asked more questions and confirm if all the parts are for the same caliber even though it was noted in the title of the for sale ad. Probably will annoy the sellers but that's what I will be doing from now on, ask more questions and confirm even though it's on the description. I have a lot to learn and using this site gain knowledge.

I once worked with a guy who’s favorite pass time seemed to wasting online sellers time. He would engage people in an elaborate days long question and answer session that would not end until the would be seller would go off on him. At that point he would be all disappointed because he didn’t get the said item. To no avail I pointed out the idiocy of his little games many times.

Recently, I noticed a Tikka 595 in the classifieds here. I’m a sucker for these fine old guns but It was in 22-250 and I already own 2 of them. I asked a few questions about the condition and round count. It being an older gun in a barrel burning cartridge, I guess I was trying to slow myself down and be logical about it. Normally, if I see one at a fair price, I just post an “I’ll take it!” The seller, a known good guy here, answered with what he knew. I asked a couple more questions, got answers and I decided to buy the gun. I’m glad he was patient with me while I dithered.
I picked up the gun yesterday. It has a few minor dings that were expected and described. I just gave it a good cleaning and borescoped it. It looks like it hasn’t had more than 50 rounds down the barrel. I’m a very happy guy!
Many thanks to Thauglor!
