Butt pad removal

I have a revolution stock and want to remove the soft pad and the hard plastic spacer. I want to install a weight system. I removed the two screws that are through the soft pad and using a nylon block and hammer to strike it but to no avail. I'm wondering if the spacer may be screwed on separately. Looking for anyone that has dealt with this issue. Thanks Michael

The last one I worked on was screwed and glued. Cut it off or you might try a little heat from a hair dryer.

I have a Boyds AR wood stock that appears to be glued. I want to add weight and am thinking about coring the pad, spacer, and wood then fitting a weight and plugging the hole in the pad.

Sometimes, especially in the presence of oils and such, plastics and especially rubbery types will kind of glue themselves together. If there were two dissambly screws present, I'd say that it should come apart. I know that I wouldn't give up until I had completely destroyed it. jd

I used a razor blade and a small hammer to wedge between the wood stock and the plastic spacer to remove mine. Zero damage to the butt stock.
