Bushnell vs. Burris

I am trying to choose between a Bushnell Elite 8-32X40 or a Burris Black Diamond. I know the Burris is a little higher priced, but I want to get the better of the two. I have never had the chance to look through a Black Diamond so I have no way of judging their optics. I do have an older Elite 4200 6-24, that I am very pleased with. Weight is no concern, just want the clarity. Please give me your opinions so that I may make an informed decision. Thanks. Tim

If you are shooting long range,,800 yards +) it might be a good idea to buy the one with the most MOA adjustment for elevation.

I will be shooting a 6br out to 600 yards, on paper. I can get the needed MOA from a set of bases. I am more concerned with optical quality.

I have had both, and they are both equal in my humble opinion. That is to say for the fullfield II and the bushnell elite models. The burris black diamond or signature series may edge the bushnell out, but I don't think you can wrong with either.
If you haven't read/heard the common line before...always get the best glass you can afford. You do get what you pay for in the majority of cases when it comes to glass. I didn't follow the advice at first, and the cost of the lesser scope could have been used for the better one had I saved a little longer.

I have an 8-32 BLack Diamond and several Elites & Signatures same/same. I feel the BD is definitely sharper/clearer than the other two. I think for abt a $200 increase in clarity you are getting way more for that 30-40% cost increase than when you double the $$ of a BD for the 1300-1500$ glass. Warranties are forever also. I also have a Pentax 8.5-32 that seems to have the edge on sharpness also. It is NIB and for sale.

Do you have an asking price for the Pantex, and what made you decide not to keep it? Not trying to say the Pantex is not as good, but what changed your mind? I'm trying to decide on a new scope as well.
