Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x50mm SF

I am seeking your opinions on the Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x50. I considering purchasing this scope as opposed to the Leupold VXIII 8.5-25x50.

Thanks
Richard.

I just sold my vx3 8-25x50 also, I hve 2 new sightrons on order. The elites and sightrons are much better than the leupolds. The only problems i ever had were with the leupolds so no more leupolds.

I have two of the Elite 4200 6-24 one on my 6BR and another on a 223. They have been great the BR has about 2500 rounds through it and I do alot of elevation changes. So far just fine.

Can't say anything bad about the various brands of scopes these days because I have had good luck with many brands. Story was different 20+ years ago.

Have the Bushnell scope you describe and like it.

I had the 6-24 X 40, it was ok.
Upgraded a year ago when the tactical model came out 6-24 X 50 and it was a fantastic difference.
Had it on a 6 br for a bit and it worked really well. Returned to zero flawlessly every time, lots of light and nice at clear.
I've moved it to an AR- 15 now and upgraded the BR rifle to a Nightforce NXS and wont got back. Now looking at a N/F Benchrest for the new 6 PPC gun.

M.
p.s. nothing wrong with the Bushnell for the money, its a fraction of the cost of the n/f.

Icepick, I have a 4200 in 6-24x40,AO) and also the 6-24x50,SF "Tactical"). I have always wanted to look through higher end glass like Zeiss or Nightforce side by side, but have not had the chance.

What do you like better about your NF compared to the two Elites?

Thanks,

John

I've got the new 4200 6-24 Tactical...along with a 4200 6-24 SF,one inch tube) and older 4200 4-16x40 AO focus and even a 1-6 4200...I would buy another 4200 long before any Leo scope, yes I do have Leo scopes too)...Zeiss Conquest..Nikon Monarchs...Vortex Razors..all offer quailty products with excellent warranty..the 4200s all repeat clicks well and are very clear...

I am also shopping for a scope and have heard good things about the Bushnell Elite 4200 line. It seems they make 5 models in a 6-24 magnification. Two are side focus and the other three have the adjustable objective. One of the two side focus models designated with a T has a 50mm objective and a 30mm tube with a Mil Dot reticle. The P designated side focus scope has a 40mm objective with a 1" tube and also has a Mil Dot reticle. The other three models have the more common adjustable objective and seem to vary only in the reticle offered; Mil Dot, Multi X, and 1/4 moa dot. The sales people say that the P side focus model was introduced in March of 2006 and that the T model was introduced in February of 2008. No doubt the conventional models were introduced prior to March 2006. The T side focus model is the most expensive at about $569, the P side focus is about $529 and the others are about $439 - $449. Either of the two side focus models seem to be the most attractive to me. Does anyone have experience with the 426242P side focus model? I am not sue I need the 50mm objective and 30mm tube. Thanks, Peter.

The 4200 6-24 w/SF is a one inch tube...another one to consider is the new 4-16 w/SF also a one inch tube...both of these are lots shorter than the earlier 6-24 models w/AO focus..still 4200 quality..just a more compact package...the 6-24 Tactical model is a 30 mm tube w/50 mm bell & SF....external target towers.

I have a Elite 6500 2.5x16x50MM on my AR-15. It help me put a big hole in a coyotes neck at 104 yards in a sea of Nevada sage brush.
