Bushing?

I've been doing some searching and it seems alot use .268ish bushings in 6mm.
My lapua is .0155 thick so comes to .031 + .243 is .274
I've been using a .271 and my rifle shoots in the .2's,Holland/Krieger 700 .243)
My math shows .002 hold after .001 spring back.
Why so many posts stating a .271 wont hold the bullet?
Am I missing something? I have a .270 also and will testing a batch next trip.
Been running 65gr Berger BT w/41.0 Varget BR2 @ 3550
I shoot as a single shot so not worried about bullet movement in the mag.

???

First thing is, if it is working for you in your gun, who cares what other people posting say.

From reading your post I will assume you have a no turn neck chamber. With that piece of data I say you are doing everything right. You may find different batches of brass that have a thinner/thicker neck and this will alter your results. I do exactly what you do - size my brass ~0.002/0.003 less than the loaded diameter. This gives me good brass life and reliable neck tension which is what I think we all want to achieve.

A lot of the 6BR brass is .012/.013 with no turn and this is why you see a lot of people using .268/.269 bushings. I seem to recall that my Lapua 243 brass was thicker - .015/.016 but since I have a .270 chamber all my brass was turned to .012 and I have been using a .266 bushing and have had groups under .2 at 200 yards.
