Bushing Service by Carlsbad -- A+

Don't normally make a post unless it is truly deserved. But in this case I will. Sent my bolt in to get it bushed and the turn around was just a couple of days. Unfortunately USPS decided to lose the return shipment, which is still AWOL in Memphis TN. But after allowing sufficient time for the Post office to actually declare it lost, Mr. Carlsbad mad good and replaced my bolt with a new one and it performs outstanding. Same loads that were cratering and blanking are now perfect, and even the hot ones show absolutely zero signs of pressure other than a bit if primer flattening. So for perspective, the softer and thinner GINEX primers that brought this whole episode into being look better in my 223AI at 2900 with 88 Gr ELDM's than the CCI 450's did at 2550 with the same 88 grainer.

So bottom line, Great service, and GREAT customer service. Hats off.

I am unsure why Mr Carlsrbad had to make good if the USPS lost your bolt? It would seem to me that it was out of his hands and responsibility?

Mr. Carlsbad must have felt since he was the returned sender, he would take the responsibility and did so, in my opinion. How many others would do the same, do not know. But he must have felt the obligation to do so. That is great customer service.
Now when and if USPS ever finds and locate the original bolt and package, and IF ever the USPS makes good on any insurance, which is highly unlikely, then OP and Mr. Carlsbad can work out the situation.
Again just my opinion.

Mr. Carlsbad certainly went above and beyond. If he has no fault with the loss of the bolt he certainly didn’t have to do that. Maybe he had an extra bolt he came by that he didn’t have a use for, still a nice gesture whatever the circumstance. Nice gestures are great for PR and bad for the bottom line…. Can’t do much of that without affecting the bottom line which needs to remain out if the red if you wanna keep the doors open.

Good post.

Same great experience here. I sent a bolt to be bushed and Carlsbad wasn't happy with the existing firing pin and spring and called to tell me so. He said he had new parts in stock and I said go ahead and make it right. He sent the bolt back and trusted me to send him the additional funds for the parts. Like others have said the turnaround time was great and the finished product was top notch.

I had two bolts delayed during the return.
He assured me that if they were lost, he would replace them.
They arrived after 30 days in transit.
I’m 100% sure he would have made good on his promise.

Does anyone have contact information for Mr. Carlsbad. I am In need of a firing pin bushing performed on a Remington 700 bolt. I normally use Gre Tan but they are not taking any new business at this time. If you have anyone else you suggest please provide this information also.

Thanks

"Book" loads resulted in primers with craters and flattening, velocities were consistent with load data in my Rem 700 22-250. 2 weeks bolt was back, same loads no more ugly spent primers. I think the fired brass has more consistent shoulder measurements, as sizing the fired brass is "easier", smoother?

Carlsbad is a great guy and does great work with quick turnaround. Your bolt might still show up one of these days. They "misplaced" a set of shotgun stocks that I had refinished for 10 weeks until they just suddenly showed up at my house with no notice that they had been found, no tracking updates or any other data that should have been available. The mysteries of USPS these days are beyond comprehension.
