Burstfire or EP annealer?

I'm looking to get my first annealing machine. I've seen the Burstfire on Amazon and the EP 2.0 videos. What do you guys think of these machines? Which is the better of the two?

The Burstfire works quite well but realize, it takes close monitoring as the propane tank cools and empties. I annealed a lot of brass and many calibers with it. When used in a dimly lighted room, the user can adjust the flame dwell timing to see the hint of red glow inside the cartridge neck before it drops into the receiving pan.

That said, I eventually tired of monitoring the process and adjusting the gas feed with small propane tanks. If you could adapt a larger 5-gallon tank to the torch tip that effort would be minimized.

I gave myself an early Christmas present this year and purchased an AMP annealer. I plan to list my Burstfire for sale on this website soon.

Is your Burstfire a Gen 2 or an earlier version?

I have the EP annealer set up, like it, easy to use for the most part AFTER you get the flame tip position to your liking/preference, etc. Adjusting the speed/rotation of the drum is easy and consistent from what I can tell. I use the short/fat green Coleman tanks with a large U shaped bolt to copy the tank holder provided in the "kit". I use my EP for varmint rifle brass so the "exactness" of the annealing process is open for debate, but I don't compete in CF, so all of my experience is for brass used in pdog/sage rat guns. I usually wait until I have several hundred cases to anneal, and set it up. I usually just anneal 223 based cases and 204R cases, so there is minimal adjustments for case size, but they are still easy to accomplish/set. I have annealed 22/250 and 6br brass with the EP, and the drum adjustment was/is easy, just takes some piddling with.

I have some old brass that I use to "test" with when setting the EP up as it does take some adjustments to get the drum speed and flame settings to all line up, but it's not difficult.

another proponent of the EP unit. It's the only one I own, but have had great success with it. easy to use, quick adjustments when needed, and just plain works.

something i learned when doing annealing shortish brass ,on a burstfire machine .there is a way to bump the brass out so the shorter brass is in the flame . burstfire offers a ramp .its a device that sticks to the wall between the wheels . can get it for free + $5 for shipping code is SHORTY
