burs in throat

Looks like a long gouge along the top of, and running mostly parallel, to the land. The circled portion on the leade looks like where the gouged-out material came to reside. Maybe the reamer was pulled out crooked, causing the trailing edge of the pilot to drag along one side of the bore along the lands, creating the gouge?

Just a guess.

Suggest u make sure new screw is not touching barrel threads. A little sharpie will tell u

Since I did that over two years ago, I doubt the sharpie will help much now. Just kidding! The action screw was/is short of the barrel. If and when I do rebarrel I would watch for a longer barrel tail and shorten the screw if needed. But I doubt it will ever be an issue as there are 2-3 threads short of the barrel.

Have you jammed a bullet into the lands? Wouldn't that tell you more .

How so?

I have Sharpie marked bullets and used the Hornady gauge and the scuffed sharpie marks haven't told me anything other than I am apparently touching the lands. I'm not seeing gouges in the copper if that is what you are suggesting.

I would seriously consider firing 3-4 Tubb TMS bullets. For multiple reasons. Don't worry there will be multiple flamers from my comment but ignore them, and shoot some TMS bullets in that barrel. They work.

Here is a pic of the chamber of the 6br i have listed for sale with 20rds on it. Detailing the throat after chambering is the key to fast break in.
