Burris Z Rings--Solid Enough?

There seems to be a lot of difference of opinion on another forum about the Burris Z rings and weather the plastic inserts allow slight scope movement. Has anybody mounted a scope on a really accurate bench rifle using these mounts? And have you had any detectable increase in group size or any other problem with them?

I have some that I want to use on a 40x actioned 6.5-284 as I want to use the offset insert for more elevation. I am also planning on using them with my Barnard actioned 6mm Dasher but not if they have problems.
Thanks for your advice

Paul

my dad doesnt seem to have any problems on a 15lb 6.5-284

I have never heard a complaint at williamsport, FWIW.

YMMV,

There was a guy posted a pic on 24hrcampfire that had droped his rifle out of a tree stand and it bent the bell a pretty severe amount. Scope didn't shift neither did mounts. Says a lot for both.

Well, the Signatures are OK on a rifle of moderate recoil, but they won't hold an 8.5 X 25 Leupold LRT on a .338 RUM, scope eventually shifts forward after about five shots. Lapped in a set of Mk 4 rings no problem with that again.

I have a set of signatures on a 6mm AI and have no problems there.

Rust, thanks for the report. That's the first I've heard of a scope shifting with the plastic inserts. Maybe that's why Burris is now using a 4-screw clamp system on the latest 30mm Signature Zees. I've used the 1" rings on my Varmint rifles and they've been very solid.
