Burris Xtreme Tactical rings - height on Savage 11 LR Hunter

At present I have a Savage 12 LRPV with a NightForce 8-32x56 & using low rings. Just barely enough clearance from the barrel - but OK for me.

I am looking at purchasing a Savage 11 LR Hunter & looking at Burris Xtreme Tactical rings to go on a Picatinny-style base.
Does anyone have experience with low rings? Or do I need medium?

Do the math. And the answer will depend on the scope, and the thickness of the base and if it's tapered or flat. The "low" XT rings are 1/4" from base top to ring bottom. Add the dimension to the centerline (depends on whether scope is 1" or 30mm diameter), and the base thickness. Figure out how much clearance you want between the barrel (figure in its taper too) and the scope objective.
