Three months ago I order Burris 30mm XTR Rings not knowing that these were something brand new. Wanted them since they come complete with all the different MOA inserts without having to buy them separately and with 6 screws instead of two, I thought they would be better than the regular Signature Zee rings, though I have no experience and that is a guess.
After being told at least three times that they would be shipping in "another two weeks or so" after canceling my order, I finally just called Burris, to ask for the name of a dealer that they have shipped these too and got the real story.
Apparently these are new rings that we shown by Burris at the 2015 Shot Show and used to test the waters for marketability. I guess they got enough orders and ran a large batch, which are now in the Quality Control department before they will start shipping.
Fortunately the guy that is building two of my rifles currently has a bunch of these on order and now expects to get them in two weeks, so I think I will finally get three sets in the next 2-4 weeks.
