Burris tactical rings

What are your thoughts and comments on the Burris tactical rings. Both good and bad comments are welcome, please only comment if you have had experience with this product.

Thanks,

Tony.

Thumbs up. They're affordable and heavy-duty. Add 15mm to the advertised ring "height" to get the top-of-base to ring centerline dimension.

FWIW, their "low" (1/4" before conversion as noted above) accommodates a 50mm objective scope on a very heavy barreled Rem 700 with a 20 MOA Badger base. Clearance was about 1/8", which I deem to be just about perfect.

I am very impressed with the burris tactical rings. I have a set of the 1" and a set of 30mm. they are aluminum but you will be surprise at how well they are made. I took my savage 10fcp into the gunsmith to have a bedding job. my gunsmith's son is a navy seal sniper. He over he me talking about going with the badger bases and rings. He told me not to go that way. He did say that badger is top of the line, but they don't justify the cost difference. He said the only time he used badger is when he had to meet certain specs for his service rifle. He has the burris extreme rings on all of his personal rifles. Anyway I did go in the drection that he pointed me in and I am not disappointed at all. I went with the EGW 20moa base and 30mm burris rings instead of the badger. Saved $200 on the difference and bought $200 dollars more scope. I was looking at the 8.5x25x50 mark 4 leupold with the tmr recticle. instead I got the same scope with the ill tmr recticle. I still had some change left so I bought a 1000 primers also! sorry about the spelling I'm in a hurry and didn't proof read. Just thought I'd trough my 2 cent in.

Great info, please keep the comments coming.

Tony, they're rings, not rocket science. They work, they're cost effective. Buy 'em and use 'em. If you don't like them, sell them for $10 bucks less than you paid and try something else. This is a no-brainer.

Natehaler,

You did not mention if you were using a 1 inch or 30 mm scope. This will make a big difference on mounting clearance. No one ever said selecting scope rings was "rocket science" some scope rings work well, and some aren't worth a dime!!!

Tony.
