On 12/2/13 i mailed an old signature compact scope 4.4x14x32mm burris in to have the crosshair repaired, i even shipped it in the original box with the lifetime warranty info. By the end of the month burris had shipped the scope back via fed-ex who in-turn left the scope on someones front porch but can't remember which porch;;; So i got hold of Brian with customer service at Burris & he took care of the problem by sending me a new scope----NOW that's good service & the first time i have ever needed any warranty work & i have alot of scopes...thanks again to Brian & Burris Optics------Craig

Hmmm......time will tell. We shall see.

If I understand the facts as you stated them; since the scope was lost in shipping, it would seem to me that they took the only proper course of action that they had by providing you with a replacement scope. Yes, they can afford to be generous and send you a new scope being that FedEx was clearly at fault for losing the scope......and Fedex will be reimbursing them for it.

Honestly, in recent years past I have sold off brand new top tier Black Diamond Burris scopes that I had saved in their unopened boxes after having second thoughts about ever having to deal with their warranty-service department. If you do a google search on Burris Warranty, or search the archives of various websights, or, read the feedbacks at the various retailers, the war stories about Burris Warranty is scary. There are MANY reports of Burris scopes not being repaired properly, as well as quite a lot of instancses of the service department being rude with the customers, including hanging up on the customer. Who needs that kind of aggravation with an expensive scope?

But, perhaps that was the old Burris company before they became "Burris-Steiner" , and they have since turned the corner. (??)

Since the Signature line of scopes is no longer produced, may I ask what model of Burris scope did you receive in return ?

Burris has been fantastic to deal with warranty issues, in my experience.

Sent them a scope last year, and it was returned within 2 weeks.

YMMV

g-man, thanks for asking,,,the scope is a burris timberline 4.5x-14x-32mm with the ballistic plex crosshair with parallax adj. compact. I already like the way this scope handles & it does it's job at 50 yd. rim-fire very nice & just as clear as any of my other burris optics that i currently use, hope this info helps out take care Craig

I literally have a fleet of Burris scopes, and have only had to use their customer service once. I have a Signature Scope that did not have the parallax set properly on at the factory. Burris rep I spoke to was courtious and a pleasure to work with. She said, "what distance would you like us to set the parallax at?". They quickly turned it around and paid the shipping. Very pleased!

I've only owned one Burris scope - 1.5-6x40 Euro Diamond - felt the optical quality was very good, but wasn't impressed with the clicks on the knobs - pretty mushy compared to most of the scopes I use.

However, since they announced their new XTR II line of tactical scopes at SHOT this year, I've got the hots to get my hands on one of the 5-25x50s and try it out. Price point is several hundred less than what I paid for my Bushnell 3.5-21x50 ERS G2, so I'm a bit concerned about how good the glass can be at that price. However, since Burris is now owned by Beretta (along with Steiner), I'm hoping the new tactical line glass will be comparable to what Bushnell's using in their top-end tactical models.

If this flippin' weather ever warms up a little, it'd almost be worth the drive out to Greeley to take a look at the whole line of XTR IIs.

I sent in an older pistol scope from the late 80's.It wouldnt center quite right. So I was told to send it in and they would check it out and install target turrets.I get a letter stating that they wont service this scope anymore. They also took 80.00 to do the conversion and clean the scope. Next letter stated it was being sent back with any affected repairs.I get the scope 2 weeks later, all they did was set it up and recenter the reticle on their target .I asked them to clean and repurge etc which I didnt mention earlier in this rant. So anyways I now have my scope back with something I could have done myself and they kept the 80.00 for the non-existent target turrets. No cleaning or repurging or anything. I called and got some lady and she would check to see if they should refund my money. After several other calls ,I finally got to someone that knew her job and said she would send a refund for the turrets I paid for. Two months later they finally cut the check. Now thats service. In the meantime I oredered a new 3-12 pistol scope and I get it in a suspiciously looking oriental looking box. I opened it and sure enough made in the philipines.Proudly made in the USA.

The only scopes that Burris makes in the USA are the XTR Tactical scopes and the Pentax Lightseeker 30 & Lightseeker XL (1" tube) series . A couple of years ago they dropped the Black-Diamond (30mm tube) and Signature Select (1" tube) lines which were made in the USA also.
