Burris Sig Zee Rings Inserts

I was looking at the 34mm. ones and I see a lot of bad reports on them any truth to that ? They come with a lot of different inserts but they look different..... jim
I am running multiple sets of those (XTR Sig's) in 34mm and love them (you couldn't give me anything else), but the plastic inserts do tend to cause the ring screws to work loose, and especially during the first hundred rounds or so after mounting.

You just have to get into the habit of checking them now and then, less often once they have settled in.

My Sig Zee rings finally arrived. When I opened the packaging, there were no +/- 5 or 10 inserts. the "0" inserts were in the space provided normally for the offsets. Typically, the "0" inserts come installed in the rings with oil. Did Burris stop putting the 5 & 10 inserts in the package?
I know they won’t sell you any extra 30mm inserts- I called and asked them.

Thanks, I was reading the these stories about all the bad things but with the 1" and 30mm I had nothing bad to say about them, in fact they are the best I ever used..... BTW what did you torque the ring screws to..... jim

I'm using them on a Ruger Magnum Precision Rifle in .338 Lapua with a Durris XTR II 8-40x50 and they work very well. The only quibble I have with them is that the 6-screw caps take a lot of time to remove and replace for adjustments (it takes me 4-6 cycles to get the alignment just right) and are definitely overkill. Once set, they hold very well - no POI shift after ~500 rounds fired.

Well, there is no 1" Sig. Zee sold by Burris that comes with anything other than a set of 0's for each ring. The only way you can buy a Burris 1" ring that comes with other insert sizes is to buy the much heavier XTR Signature rings.

It is easy to mis-remember because when you buy a pair of 1" Zees there are no inserts in the rings themselves, and there are two sets of 0's in the package compartment below the rings.

When you buy a pair of 30mm Zees there are 0's in the rings and two sets of 10's in the lower compartment. Here is an example of each. I doubt you can see what is, and isn't, in the rings, but trust me, what I describe is accurate.

I have been buying both sizes of Zees and a lot of XTR Sig's for several years. I have always had to buy the inserts separate for the 1", if I wanted something other than 0's.

This is a case of bad memory (I'm 71). Called Burris to check and you are correct. Probably should have done that in the first place and not stick my foot in my mouth. Mike

I have a pair of 30 mil extra high Sig Z’s. As previously stated the rings have the zeros in them and the extras are +/- 10’s. Just out of curiosity I measured the thickness of the zeros using a vernier with the thin part of the blade just to the side of the molded circle with the value in it. Figured the measurement would be messed up otherwise. I zeroed the vernier after measuring the zeros expecting an equal amount of difference with the 10’s. I did not. The +10 meaured .007 more and the -10 measured .011 less. ???

Now if I can just figure out why I have 15 sets of +/- 5 inserts in the kit that came with only 10.
