burris service

:-X so I bought a burris xtr scope brand new took it out of the box to notice the focus ring had been hit or dropped and was frozen it wouldn't turn so I contacted burris they told me to send it in and told me it will only take 10 days from the time we get it I also am haveing 1/4 moa elevation installed well after 13 buissness days of them haveing it I called to see when I should be expecting it they told me it will be shipping out today that was last monday this monday I called and asked what the deal was they played dumb I talked to the same guy and he said he hadn't talked to me ot told me that and told me it might take 10 more days so needless to say I am pissed at burris have you ever delt with them and if so did you have good or bad service :-\

Good and bad - I HAD a 6xHBR but it was an early Gen II and the cross hairs were two thick for IR50/50. I saw a buddies later model of the same scope, same part number etc. and the recticle now has a very fine option. Contacted BUrris to get that recticle in my scope and they said send it in, 10 days and $50. Sent it, got a call, said sorry cannot put that recticle in this scope - different internal parts. Sold that scope with a clear conscience to a guy who wanted it for hunting squirles - would not have let it go to another 50/50 shooter. Bought a new one with the VF cross hairs and am happy. Also a shooting buddy had a 6x24 Black Diamond that the paralax would change every time he changed it - Burris had the scope back twice and the second time was putting a p-dog trip in danger. Called explained the delay was costly, scope was in the mailbox 3 days later. I ended up buying that scope an had Burris change the recticle and fix the paralax again - this time all seems good 4 years later.

Last story really pissed me off - built my son a new deer rifle tlast year. all USA stuff (if you wonder why your neighbor is out of work and you buy all your stuff at WalMart made in China....) and so I decided a BUrris FFII would look really nice on it. Good USA company (Ok I know they are owned by an Italian company) and immagine my surprise when I was installing it and found a sticker that said "Made in the Phillipiens". Burris USED to advertise "Built with Pride in the USA" - guess that is gone. Having said that the scope is great, but I will not buy anymore scopes unless I call them first to see where they are made.

So to answer your question - I have had hit and miss with their service, but all my scopes are great.

Where is the spell checker! I am an engineer and spelling is not my strong point!

Broke off a cross bolt on a set of Signature Z rings, placed a call and 4 days later a pack arrived at the house--no charge....

just called burris today they told me my scope was going to be another 2-3 weeks they have had my scope a total of 52 working days hope you never have to send your scope back to them
