Burris Scopes

My brother has a Burris scope on an old 99 Savage, 250-3000. Iirc its a 2x7 but I don't know which model. The scope is around 20 years old but has not seen much use. It will not hold zero and he sent it back to Burris the other day for the 3rd time. A local Smith where he lives mounted a Leupold of known quality and the rifle performed fine. What's your take on Burris warranty and repair service? Barlow

It is not the greatest. I have been jerked around by them before and it just isn't right. If you get a good burris they are very good scopes but when it comes to warranty they try their darndest to get out of it.

Gent I shoot with sent two Burris scopes in about a year or so ago....both were Full Field models as I recall. Mind you each scope had seen a fair number of rounds fired with them mounted on various cartridge rifles from a 375 to a 7mm-08. He spends several hours about every Sunday shooting his rifles.

Burris will repair one and send a new replacement scope for the one not worth the trouble trying to repair. Turn around time was two to three weeks. Gent was quite happy how Burris handled his warranty.

I've had no issues with their service I have several pistol scopes. Had an occasion to return one, two week turn around, problem solved. Lou

I also had one that stopped holding zero. I sent it back twice and they never got it right. I have four Burris scopes but won't buy more. If the warranty is worthless I won't bother.

I had an older Signature scope that I owned for over 20 years. I sent it to Burris last year for a repair. Burris could not fix it, but offered to replace it with a scope of choice from several they offered. I ended up with a more expensive replacement scope. Thought they were very fair and good to deal with. I have purchased two other Burris scopes in the past year due to their rebates.

My brothers scope just came back from Burris and I will test it in the next few days. The repair document said reattach and align reticle. Barlow

I have exactly the same Burris 2-7x33 mini scope and it is at least 20 yrs old., never had a problem with it nor either of the 3 other Burris scopes I own.

However, I stopped buying Bushnell optics (and I have about 10 of them) after they would not repair nor replace a 8x50 rangefinger-binocular that would not focus, even tho it was still under warranty. Said nothing wrong with it - hah. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

I had a 3-9 Fullfield on a rifle which I have not shot for several years. I took it out to shoot and it seemed to have lost it's clarity. I called Burris and they had me send it back. A few weeks later it was returned to me with a note saying that it meets their specs and said that they would do nothing with it.

I had at the time a couple of $25 Tascos that were 3 times as clear. I made up my mind at that point to never buy another Burris product again. I moved on to Leupold scopes until I tried the Sightrons and now I am gradually going exclusively with them.
