Burris Guarantee

Several years ago I purchased a pair Burris Signature Binoculars with the Forever Guarantee.
This was their top of the line binocular. Recently the adjustments on these binoculars have not been as crisp so I contacted the company about getting them repaired.

They replied that I should return them and they would send a pair of Landmark binoculars for a fee of $70. The Signature were their top model and the Landmark are the lower end binoculars. This is not the model I expected to be offered.

I believe anyone considering purchasing a pair of Burris binoculars with a Forever Guarantee should know how Burris uses this guarantee.

It is truly sad that these companys are ripping everyone off.Bushnell does the same.

On the other hand, last year I had a Burris 6X Mini BR scope crap out on me the day before the IBS Nationals. I popped on another Burris and continued to march. When I got home I sent the scope back to Burris with a nice letter about what happened. They returned the fixed scope to me in about two weeks. Perhaps it's a case of a different product, I don't know, but I'm happy. I documented this last year on this and the other benchrest forum last year.

Same thing happend to me. I baught a top end Burris Spotting scope that went bad right away. I sent it in. Seven months latter, I got back a cheap POS, bottom end scope. They said it was of equal value, because at the end they were blowing my model out a wildly low prices.

Anyway, after several "phone calls gone bad" sessions, I gave the POS spotting scope to my six year old to play army with...and baseball, and golf!!!!!!! ;D

Never again.

I'll have to keep this in mind for their optics, I've never owned one. I'll still use the hell out of their Zee rings though.

Zee rings. I have them on everything now, except a couple that I don't want to bother changing scopes yet. I have had to return 1 set, the dovetail broke right off of one as I turned it in. the last set I purchased was for the weaver style bases. When installing, I had barely torqued onto base and threads stripped. I think this was a fluke, or something, because I didn't have much pressure on it at all. it wasn't even tight yet when it gave. I called them and told them what happened. they didn't even ask me to send that set back to them like they did first time, they just mailed another set to me. So I can't complain at all about their customer service. I don't blame you for being pissed about the binos thou.

I purchased a NIB Burris 6-18x Fullfield scope a couple of years back. I knew it wasn't the latest model. It was a standard Plex reticle. I contacted Burris about swapping to a BDC or a Mil-Dot. They me it was so obsolete they wouldn't touch it. I told them I just finished filling out my Warranty Card with the "Forever Guarantee" labeled on it. They suggested I purchase one of their newer scopes and they would gladly switch the reticle for me.

I own a dozen sets of Burris Signature Zee rings. I prefer them to any other a ring on the market. Anyway I will stick to the rings and leave the scope for others... Tim
