Burger King and McDonslds etc. ?

Do you guys still stop at the fast food places drive thru ? Are you concerned someone working there could be infected and infect the food you ordered ?

Greasy fast food makes me feel queasy, so that’s a hard no for me. The last food I had that wasn’t prepared inside my home was a sandwich from the mom and pop deli down the road week before last.

My wife was a surgical assistant in her career, so we have quite to decontamination process for anything that comes into the house.

The last 5 or 6 years, once the cold and flu season starts in the late fall, my wife and I quit going out to eat or buying any take out food. No flu shots either. No colds or flu in that time period at our house. Food service is low pay, no sick days, don't miss work. So, what their kids bring home from a tool they bring to you. Not for us. Besides, my wife is a great cook and baker.

This is tin foil hat logic :) I prefer Pizza during these times. My rational is that all the handling assembling is done before cooking. Pizza guy makes the pizza then puts it in the oven to cook. Burger guy takes cooked food an puts it together and serves.
Upside is if i buy pizza i am not using up grocery foods
Downside i am relying on the pizza guy not hacking and wheezing all all over the food. see point above about cooking after prep.

I feel safer going thru the drive thru to get fast food over going in/sit down like we have in the past. I don't care for drive thru as the food is usually cold or cooled off, and not as good IMO by the time I get home with it. Current times have changed my mind for the time being.:(

You can get/catch "something" from any grocery store aisle or product on the shelf just about anytime of the year, it really depends on "who" handled it, and in what way. We don't know how it was handled back then, and we don't know now. We're just a lot more curious about it now. Not making fun of anyone who is cautious, as I am too, but we all take chances every time we drive a vehicle, go hunting, or do almost anything.

Be careful out there.

Don't really go to any of the drive thru's much, but would not give it a second thought if I did, anymore than when I walk into the grocery store or others for something I wanted to buy.

Not quite Shelter In Place here in Louisiana.
Worst seems to be New Orleans.

Baking Bread, Chocolate via Amazon, powdered milk, still haven't hit the powdered eggs,
have can goods, several boxes of oats, rice, and breakfast cereals.
But, since this is ramping up,
I'm venturing out tomorrow morning to hit the 8 to 9 AM senior shopping hour at our local Winn Dixie.
Won't touch anything without gloves and mask and a rain poncho.
We have a lot of stuff but one trip should supply perishables to last a while.

We have established a decontamination line at the gate. Providing delivery people, Census takers, and police with hand cleaner and wipes. Father in law will have to stay home for a day or so until all items are safe.
His place is about 100 yards away, but on the same property.
Back door from wash shed will be entry point for incoming supplies, changing, wipe down.

Think I will stay on "DUO" with the wife while shopping.

Please stay alert, safe, and take this seriously.
Complain after it's over.
