well, our friend Irma, in addition to the death and destruction she caused, has also seriously damaged our 600 yd competition range here in east central Florida. closed indefinitely, many matches already cancelled.

that being said, my real hope is for all those people whose lives have been turned upside by this bitch, recover from this mess as soon as possible and with no more pain.

Harvey and Irma affected a lot lives and bank accounts. My thoughts and prayers with everyone that is feeling the touch of these two storms. I'll probably moving my Company to Texas to help rebuild. Sorry you were directly affected by Irma!

Yep, the damage to our shooting range is insignificant compared to those with property damage, loss of revenue, and in extreme cases, loss of life. However, I so look forward to our monthly F-Class, and had even altered my future travel plans to accommodate upcoming regional events at our ranged.

Basically, I'm 'bummed' too.

i have been in SE Florida for 32 years, i have slept in my house multiple times with no electricity, for days at a time, through multiple tropical events. of course, the concern for people affected the most is paramount. i said that in my original post.

i am stilled bummed about the damage to the range

I can see everyone with equipment just lining up to repair a gun range . Just call Avon park where we hunt the said close till farther notice . . Manatee range is closed for repairs . That will probably be put on hold . With all the demand all over the state for equipment .

Manatee range not storm damaged. It is damaged by design and operation. Too many bullets escaping the area onto public areas nearby. Manatee has been closed the last couple of weeks. Going there tomorrow to see what is going on. Need multiple new berms, new target stand design and range modification to deal with bullets escaping. Need totally new control of how so many ( read - G I Joe types ) blast away.

With the recent storm and water damage everywhere, South Florida shooting is on hold. Sorry to hear about Malabar. Sure a popular place for many.
