BulzEyePro Optical Booster Questions

Not sure if he's a member. I tried about 2 months ago contacting him, but he never returned my calls or emails.

Here is the deal. Those lenses are +diopter, and they have a couple of potential issues that you might want to be aware of. First one is that they shorten the focal length of your eyepiece, so that to get to a proper adjustment you will have to move the eyepiece forward on the scope to get to a proper adjustment. This can be an issue for individuals depending on the nature of their vision combined with any corrective lenses that they wear. You could have insufficient adjustment range to do a proper eyepiece adjustment with the lens in place dependinng on the diopter number.

Some years back a fellow that I know ran out of adjustment room before he was able to get to proper adjustment for his vision. For lenses of this type, I found that I can use a +2 but not a +3.

The other possible issue is eye relief. With a +2 diopter lens my 36X scope's eye relief is reduced by about a half inch.

On the plus side It seems like +2 gives me about a 20% boost in magnification, with excellent image quality, and the same field of view as the scope has without the lens.

Years back, I was curious about the bulzeye pro lenses but not enough to spend the money. At the time I had a set of closeup lenses that were designed to put on the front of a 35mm camera. One day, out of curiosity, I held up one of the lenses behind the eyepiece of a scope and looking through them discovered that the effect was the same as was advertised by bullzeye. Taking it a bit farther, I did a crude measurement of the screw in cap for my B&L 36X and decided to risk a small amount (about $20) by ordering the closest thread size of a set of closeup lenses from an Ebay seller. They are a cased three lens set by Tiffen. Luckily they fit, and the rest is history. I like them a lot, and since my discovery several friends have bought the same kind of lenses and use them. The size of mine is 37mm. They fit some of the March scopes. For my friends' Leupold 36X scopes they made or adapted something that is a friction fit on the eyepiece that holds a lens against the back of the eyepiece, They all continue to use this setup, and are pleased with the results.
