Bullseye target cam or ATV ?

Easy pezee by the ATV greater number uses, the camera is an easy build yourself. Security camera, router with large antenna and battery with the matching voltages along with a phone or tablet what ever that will pickup the signal all can be purchased on Amazon around $120.00 to $160.00 bucks(depends on camera quality) at the end you will have a camera that will work out to 800yrds or more may need yagi antenna. Have your younger relatives help you they can load camera software and hooker all up. You create your own wifi signal to pickup in simple terms. Or just guy one after the ATV.

Since the 1,000 yard range I shoot at is 206 miles from my Apartment in Manhattan and 308 miles from my house on Long Island, towing a trailered ATV is not in the cards. I just committed to purchase a Long Distance Version Bullseye Target Camera and will just have to find out how well it works. The new ones apparently have zoom lenses now.

My only concern is that they talk about "Direct Line of Sight" distances. I understand that being a HAM radio operator. I worked the Space Shuttle a few times with a 5 watt hand held radio, but at Williamsport, it will be set up in the pits and I am not sure about the signal. I have seen the Caldwell work there, so I will just have to fool with it. At my home range it will work fine, though with that only being 200 yards, my high power scopes work fine.

Bob. thanks for your report. please follow up with me on this thread after you try your Bullseyes system. i am down to my final cut on which brand to choose for 1000 yard shooting. Bullseyes or target vision.
thanks. Marty

Does that include Freight ?

no . you should be able to put it in your cart and go to the next page to check shipping cost . then just remove it if you don't want it . these items will expire at midnight .

edit to add ;
I just checked shipping to central Pa from $10 to $81 depending on how fast you need it .

I put the order in yesterday evening and an hour later had an e-mail saying it had shipped and providing a tracking number. Until April I will only be using it at my home range at 200 yards, but I will wring it out and see how it works. In April the roof at Williamsport should be done and then I will try it at 1,000. I will report back my impressions.

Not exactly related to the OP's request but if the distance one is shooting is at 500 or less, and you have good to excellent vision, give this a try. I use Wallyworld or Walgreen fluorescent green poster paper with the small red stick on targets and can see the 6.5 and larger holes with a 20x or greater scope out to 500 meters (547 yards).

Dale, the neat thing about this set up is that the last shot fired blinks so now matter how many hits there are on the target, you know what your last one was. It will also calculate, spreads and other neat things in the software included. I intend to use it even at 100 where I can easily see the holes with my scope or with my spotting scope. If you do make it to Williamsport in June, you can play with it.

Bob once again thanks for your post. i hope moderators could high light this post under camera target systems ? thanks. Marty

I shoot square range at Quantico on weekends (out to 1,000) and a guy came out with a homemade system that got our attention for its instant feedback. I'm not a do-it-yourself electronics guy so I did some research and bought the TargetVision LR2. JMHO, but I found the reviews and tech specs to be preferable. I found one on sale a few weeks back and made the purchase.

The LR2 uses a Target camera module with built-in Wi-Fi, and it establishes its own Wi-Fi network you then use to connect to with your Android, iPhone, iPad, etc. While I haven't taken it out to distance, the camera module (alone) will transmit to about 300 yards. The second included module is a long-range receiver and is used when you go past 300 yards.

It comes in a single Pelican case that includes the modules and small tripods (2). The batteries are inside the modules and you simply plug them in to recharge them. Stated run-time is 12 hours.

I set it up in the bedroom and the full color HD picture was pretty darn good, and the transmission frame rate wasn’t too bad either, although that’s not the intent to stream video. This is a picture of the transmission on my iPad.

I then took the single camera module outside and set it up pointing at my neighbor’s house about 100 yards away. I wanted to see the strength of the Wi-Fi but found it has infrared and puts out a pretty good picture at distance. I also had no problem connecting to the Wi-Fi in the upstairs bedroom and through the outside and inside walls, and again, shown on the iPad.

I have a camera with built in WiFi and it will download images to my storage device very rapidly, but not at any long distance. Probably could have built something for less, but I have enough odd jobs to keep me busy.
