Bulletin--Need Feedback from Readers

Forum Boss

Folks,

Link: http://www.6mmbr.com/bulletin.html

We've now been running the Bulletin for a full month. It takes a lot of effort to get something new each day, but people seem to like it. Each item is easily searchable by category or word search.

What I need to know is:

1. What do you prefer in terms of content mix? We have tech notes and competition news and reports of special sales. What stuff do you want to see the most.

2. When I started, the entries were quite short. Recently, some of the "Tech Tips" have been running longer because we simply needed to explain topics in more detail.

What do you prefer--the short items or the more detailed entries?

3. Are you folks able to find items and navigate OK?

I prefer the short entries, Paul, but I don't really mind the long ones.

I like the mix so far. I suspect you'd run out of stuff or it'd get mundane if you tried to focus it to one thing or another. It's a "bulletin," so I kind'a think it's anything you want to put in there that you think is of interest to your readers.

So far, I can find stuff and navigate okay. It might be different when you've got 365 entries in there, however. It'll be a nice problem to have.

You might consider having members submit their own material to you for consideration for the Bulletin feature. You could then copy and paste. Might save you some time so you can shoot more.

Tom--That's definitely a good idea--we've always encourage readers to submit items for the BLOG and that certainly applies to the bulletin as well. I've also told all the vendors to keep me apprised of any special bargains--but usually I still have to "go fishin" each morning.

But yes--folks are encouraged to submit items 100-200 words with a photo or two.

You've got a great mix as it is. I really enjoy it. Please keep up the good work.

Paul,

I enjoy the mix of content you have now and I understand the amount of effort it takes to keep it going.

Long or short is fine either way. Often two good sentences communicate more than two paragraphs.

Thanks,

Paul:

I enjoy the mix as it is now. Kinda a "brainstorming" concept as each new item comes up. I now check the "Bulletin" first thing when I log on to keep up with the current items and developments.
