What happens if one bullet has more lube left on then another one? What does it do going down the barrel verses a cleaner one? How much difference does that make at 1000 yards? When a gun can shoot 3 inches at 1000 yards and you can lose a relay by .001, do those things matter? Matt

Of coarse all those things matter. How do you cope with them now? You are using a Forum to gather relevant info that may help YOU. You have to test and see what works. If you ask for a scientific reason about anything, I can think of a few members that may reply, some more humorous than others.

Winter sure takes its toll on people. Normal, rational people will start to think about the damndest things. Some will even think about whether they own any type of measuring device that is capable of distinguishing between .001" and .002". It usually turns out to be a set of dial calipers.

I don't use calipers. I use a dial indicator. It's obvious you don't shoot 600 or 1000 yards. Matt

600 or 1000 yds? Heavens no. I rarely shoot over 25 Yds. .001" in seating depth makes little difference. I leave all that ridiculous long distance stuff to you men of the "Master Race".

So let me see if I got this correct.
If I'm lucky to find them I pay close to .50 cents a piece for Berger 180 gr. bullet. Having been fortunate to find some, I need to sort by weight, meplat, point, wash, rinse, dry and measure BTO and after all this time and tender loving care I send them on their way never to be seen again.... AND then have to painfully endure listening to some guy in the back ground yelling 8 one on.

I think I'm beginning to like golf better, I pay $1.50 a ball and I don't have to do anything to it except wash it once in awhile and go find it. And if I really do bad I find more free balls and new hunting spots.
