Bullet selection help

What is the advantage of shooting a lighter bullet over a heavy one at short range other than speed? I’m rethinking my build at this point (haven’t ordered anything yet). 90% of my shooting (twice a week) will be done at 300 yards and a few times a year at 600. I was planning on either an 8 twist for 105 bergers or a 10 twist and running 95 bergers. I’ve read that guys shooting 100/200 are using lighter bullets and a 14 twist. I guess I prefer heavier bullets and longer barrel life but am I going to sacrifice accuracy? Can I still shoot in the 1’s at 100 yards with a 95 grain berger in a 10 twist barrel if I do my part and a tuned load?

Thanks, John

You give up nothing with the 8 twist and 105's.
Just shot .127 in a test at 100 yards and 4 shots touching at 350 yards.
