Bullet notch after pointing

I am new to pointing bullets. 180 hybrids with Whidden die. I ran though about 20 this morning with no problems. Moved to the second pile (grouped into .002 spreads), screwed the die in .003 and proceeded. I noticed a little notch at the bottom of the cone. Barely noticeable with eyes but I could see it with a magnifying glass and can feel it with ny thumbnail. I started backing the die out but it’s still noticeable. I’ve taken the die apart 4 times looking for a burr but cannot see one. Anyone else ever have this problem?

This picture was zoomed in pretty good.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how I would get to it. Thought about some JB on the end of a scrap bullet. There’s just no room for any tools.

Probably easier to just order a new insert.
But as usual I need bullets next weekend.

I will call them Monday to see if I can send it to them and have it honed. If they cannot I may try to work on it.

This is NOT a Whidden problem. It worked fine for the first several hundred. I had one bullet with a bad tip. Should have tossed it but I thought I could fix it with the die. About my 3rd stupid mistake since Thanksgiving morning.

The flat bottom of that die looks like it has had a ruff life. Several large dings/dents!

John is good for CS like that. Was you best choice to call him and cure the issue, rather than mess around trying to do so yourself. Much easier on the old BP.
