Bullet mfg and rpms

I see lots of data on keeping certain bullets under X rpm. I would like to hear your data with X manufacturer with Y bullets at MAX Rpm in whatever twist you running. Have you blown up bullets in mid flight.
Hornady claims to keep most under 300,000 rpm if I'm correct.

Crazy thing is that RPM is not caliber dependent.

I have a friend who is loading his 22 creed with berger 85.5s in a 6 twist and not having them blow up at 3200+. According to GRT should be 390k+. He's surprised they are staying together.

I got this..I think you can push some over but...here is what I got..

Thank you for reaching out. Since you have a faster then the standard 1-8 twist rate. You will probable want to stay around 3200FPS or less when running the v-max. Our general rule of thumb is to stay under 280,000 RPM however some bullets are able to push that limit to a certain extent. However, this will be heavily dependent on the specific barrel and environment.

Walk that fine line & or clearly on the wrong side of the line & unpleasant things can happen. Especially when using a suppressor. Thus far personally I have had no such issues with any bullets. Guess my barrel twist or chamber volume may just be inadequate. Not all bad.

Appreciate the question & the perspective of a wide range of experience though.

I've heard Nosler Ballistic Tips can handle higher rpms than most.
Don't think my experience with them has anything to do with RPM's but back in the mid 90's I shot a whitetail buck with there 7mm 140 out of a 7mm-08 that splashed on the rib cage, 8hrs later i finally finished that buck off.

Berger re- did their 22 cal. 85.5 grain bullet a couple years back for just this reason.
Sierras seem to hold up well.
Two important things to keep in mind, Keep RPM's under 300,000 and keep the
throat area clean and free of hard carbon build up.
Yes I have a video of a bullet blow up in flight. File is too big to down load here.

Factory 22 ARC 62gr ELD-VT show a published muzzle velocity at 3300. In a factory 7 twist that is 339428 rpm.
Is that why they blowup well on prairie dogs but splatter in the shoulder of coyotes?
