I've shot ELD-M in completion with great success.
Wonder how many Hornady bullets were fired at the Tackdriver?
Simple answer, NO. Hornady makes some fine bullets. Look how many are used in various shoots. But you need to find and use a load combo with the choice of weight that YOUR rifle likes and shoots small groups with.I'm simply asking, is Hornady a bad choice? Because that's been suggested rather regularly lately.
What does YOUR rifle tell you about hornady? To extrapolate further, I have never had a shooting mentor. I started out many years ago happy if I could produce a grapefruit-sized group at 100 yards. Then I gained more experience and wanted to break an inch. Then 3/4". Then 1/2". Now I'm interested in under 3/8" consistently. Not on a good day. Every day.
Many here are much better than me, no question about that. Many here have a budget that exceeds mine 10x over. I do not resent that.

In all fairness it was a question, but I already knew the answer. The OP is looking for groups....how tight? I wonder how many shot Hornady at Super Shoot? Not a fair statement. To win the Tac Driver requires precision most of us cant do hande with custom everything.
Hornady are GREAT bullets... for what they are.
My personal findings for what I use them for. This gets tricky becauseJust a personal opinion but I see it like this in order that I would rank them if accuracy is the sole criteria
1) - custom made
2) - Berger/Sierra
3) - Hornady
I'm kinda where you are, I don't shoot matches at least not yet as work keeps me too busy but when I retire might try it.To extrapolate further, I have never had a shooting mentor. Pick one of your rifles (most accurate), buy a box of Bergers and see if you can do better than your current load.Should I consider looking at other sources? And if so, what/where?
Specifics- what cartridges and barrel twist??Several calibers. 6mm, 6.5mm, 22cal, 30 cal, 7mm
Same here. It's been 5-7 years since I moved away from 223 H75's - Hornady had me send samples from a couple lots - neither meet Hornady's accuracy specs. But my good groups with H75's were every bit as good as S77's.When they perform Hornandy bullets can be awesome but I’ve had issues with them that I don’t get with Sierra and Berger.
They changed the 6.5 140 BTHP as wellSame here. It's been 5-7 years since I moved away from 223 H75's - Hornady had me send samples from a couple lots - neither meet Hornady's accuracy specs. But my good groups with H75's were every bit as good as S77's.
Okay, 3/8 is .375., so let's say you want to shoot consistently in the "3s". 6BR shooting Berger 105 vld at 2,800 - 3 mph wind at 9 o'clock = .20 drift, miss the pick up or let off you're at .575. This is the other part of the equation - it don't matter how good your bullets or reloading methods are you have to use a flag and learn to read it etc.Now I'm interested in under 3/8" consistently. I hate to hear that. I have had pretty good luck with them in the Creedmoor. They changed the 6.5 140 BTHP as well
