Bullet / load choice for 6.5x47 short range

Built me a 6.5x47 Lapua with an 8 twist barrel and looking for bullet and/or load options for shoot short range (300 yards) with accuracy being king. Not looking to drive them balls-out either because its just not needed. Considering the Lapua 123gr or the 136gr or possibly the Sierra 123gr match king.

Hornady 123 eld-m and varget get the job done for me. The hornadys shoot great and are a great value .
Might even try the 130 eld-m .
It's a good mid range choise .

I have a 6.5x47 with an 8-Twist. The best accuracy I found for this rifle/barrel combo is with the Berger 140 LRBT (behind Varget). YMMV.

Try the Lapua 123 and the Sierra 123, but I might downgrade powder, and try the 107 Sierra as well. It's a good little bullet, and damn slick, for what it is.

I was gifted some 123's & 139's from cigarcop, but have yet to try them.

I dont know squat about the 6.5x47 but I'm pushing the 136 with h4831sc.
Not the fastest horse in the race, but it flat out hammers.
Blue collar has the best price on scenar's that I've found.
Did you get a chance to work with the 155's?

Varget and Berger 140 grain elite hunter or Varget and Honady 140 eld-m. 47 is super easy to tune

I also like the 136 Scenar L in my 6.5x47L. However they’re not always easy to find. Availability comes and goes quite quickly. That’s what got me to try the 123 Scenar. They’re also very accurate, they just get blown a little more by the wind.

So far I'm torn between the 130HVLD and 130 Hybrid.
Both are shooting very well and either or possibly both will be what I take on an Axis and hog hunt at the end of the month.
I used the Nosler 123 custom comps for breaking the new barrel in but haven't messed with them enough to have a definite load worked up.
The 123's made it easily to 2950 fps running a ladder with varget and that right about were the velocity flattened out and didn't go any higher.

I have at least four 6.5x47 Lapua 8 twist barrels. They all shoot very well with 130 VLDs, ELDMs, SMKs or Norma Golden Targets. I'm sure others are good to but have had no need to try anything else.
H4350 at 40.0g within a few tenths is not fast but is crazy accurate.

90 Speer TNT, H322 or RL -10x.

For 300 yards, a light, Flat base projectile is tough to beat.

The 123gr Scenar has been the easiest to tune bullet I have used in a 6.5x47L

Go with Varget and CCI450’s.

I like Flippin Bergers in mine. The 140gr Long Range shoots stellar pushed by 36.7 of Varget.

What kind of tension are you getting with the .289? Is this turned brass?

No I have not because of the weird weather and our range is currently a mud bog. Been building this new rifle and rounding up stuff to make it go.
