Bullet choice for 6mm Dasher

What are the bullets of choice in the USA for the Dasher? I am particularly interested in feedback about the Berger options.

One of Mine will shoot 95vld pretty good 105vld ok 108bt very good and the 105 hybrid is showing goods signs during early testing. The other barrel only has about 40 rnds down her with the 105 hyb. I think I like this hybrid bullet. I just bought some for my 7mm. I haven't found a winning load for any of them yet, but they shoot great for hunting. More testing when it warms.

I'm assuming your dasher is a fast twist as potatoe was inquiring.

thanks for replies so far. My barrels are 8 twist Kriegers. have been using Lapua 105 scenars, but Bergers now available in Australia at reasonable prices, so very interested in feedback with these bullets.

My dasher has a gain twist barrel 8 to 7 1/2 and loves the Berger 108's . It also has a .236" bore. Best 500 yard group 1.230" last year , no flags and during competition match. Was using CCI 450 mag. primers and R15 powder , naked bullets. I also won the match. I also won 4 out of the 7 matches entered with the 108 Bergers in my Dasher , took 2nd at the other matches. Love the 108's .

Based on the performance I've been seeing this new season, I'd try the hybrids first. They shoot real good, and I measured my friends hybrids on my new King comparator; acceptable tolerances right from the box. They're kicking butt at 600 and 1000 yards.

I HATE BERGER.....THEY ARE GIVING ME TOO MANY OPTIONS.

Ok, so I don't hate Berger. With my new Dasher last year my plan was to try 6 different bullets. I tried the AMAX, 107 SMK, 105 Berger VLD, but as soon as I got the the 108 Berger BT's, all testing stopped!! They won me the IBS nat's last year. I didn't get around to them until a week before I left for WV. I retired that bbl. brass, bullets and powder until this years nats, baught 1500 more 108's, and had a new BBL installed. I still had a full box of Berger 105 BT's that I never got around to test in the last bbl, and had no intentions of ever testing, so I used them to FF my new Dasher brass. God do they shoot good. 31 G Varget, false shoulder and jam........SOLID 1/4 MOA out to 500 yards at a fun match yesterday. Right around 2800 fps. Both of my 500 yard groups were around an inch....so were my 400 yard targets, (except for the one squib....split sholder that went 1/2 moa low). My 100 yard group was .22. My 200 and 300 I "chased the spotter" ,so to speak, because the whole match is based on score, not group size. I held several different places for wind on the targets, but couldn't see my impacts, so I was all over the place..

Now them damm people over at Berger are giving me a bunch more NEW bullets to test. GGGRRRR >:( ..I hate Berger

Yeah, they started to drive me nutz with all their changes so I started to build my own bullets late last year. Those who shot the 105 vlds know what I'm talking about.

I was shooting the 108s since Berger changed the 105 vlds. The 108s won me my clubs smallest 600 yard aggregate last year, but I've shaved .5" off my agg since I've been making my own. Measuring my remaining stock of 108s with my new King comparator I can see why.

Now these hybrids came out, they are really giving me a run for my money. I've been spanked by shooters using them this year with smallest group.

+1 for the 108s. Maybe not quite as high BC as the VLDs, but they seem to shoot well in every type of 6mm I have. I am trying the Hybrids, but so far not quite as good as the 108s, but I havent played with the load or seating depth as much as with the 108s. Where is everyone seating their 105 Hybrids, Ive only tried from just touching to .020" off so far.

I think we place too much emphasis on that number most of the time, its all about the precision of the load. I've seen some good groups with the hybids (.9-1.7" at 600), but only one of those was a Dasher and he was using imr xbr 8208; the rest of the shooters had 6br and 6x47s. I can't tell you what he had for the seating depth.
