Bulk reloading components

Any place that offers bulk components? I’d like to try to start getting all the same lot number and enough to burn the barrel out each time I get a barrel.

This was not a problem before the elections/Covid, but since the recent "shortages" it has become difficult to manage things like brass, bullets, powders, primers, etc. due to limits placed on them by retailers and distributors.

Some of the same outfits that will sell you something this week, may change to a limit next week.

Some of the powders that have been absent, show up in one pound increments with limits and then disappear before you can buy multiple 8 lbs jugs. I could go on and on...

One of the few outfits that didn't put silly limits on their brass was Starline, but they don't make everything.

I'll let others chime in with their favorites, but I will guess that many of them were limiting their quantities not long ago.

Depends on what components you're talking about. Given that some components are, and have been, in short supply, you probably won't find a vendor who has a sizeable amount in-stock, and if they do, they won't for long.

And I don't really wanna buy in bulk before fully testing / getting a good load.

If you can't find all that you are looking for locally, perhaps you can include looking for components when/if you travel out-of-state ?

I located 3,000 FED Large Magnum Rifle Match primers during a trip to AZ.
But...the place where I found them would not ship... only in-store pick up.
I had previously made driving trips though AZ, BUT failed to even think about checking for components while I was there!! In the future, I sure will, as is solves shipping issues.

During the same recent AZ trip, I also located a large number of REM 91/2Ms; at a place that would ship. While not my first choice, buying them.....was better than choice "B".

If there are supply houses near your earthly location, become a good customer of theirs then they’ll likely be willing to support your bulk requests in the future. This, combined with online shopping, has met my needs even during the recent challenging periods.

Might be worth taking a chance. You can offer to resell if it doesn't work.

I'd probably start with Powder Valley. They have most varmint and target bullets in larger (250-1,000 ct) boxes. If you request all the same lot number on a phone order, I'm sure they will oblige. I can't recall ever ordering large quantity of anything and having them mix lots, even without my asking.

With todays shortages, what they have will probably be all the same lot! They will sell out before another shipment arrives.
